چکیده
The recent seismic activity in Croatia has inflicted significant damage upon numerous buildings, with masonry structures being particularly affected. Consequently, experimental investigations and structural condition assessments’ have garnered increased attention, as they become integral to the renovation process for such buildings. Additionally, assessing prior events is vital determining extent which earthquakes impact stiffness of systems, structures. This paper presents results numerical analysis conducted on a damaged high school building Sisak, Croatia. investigation involved shear testing, flat jack analysis, operational modal analysis. Utilizing available drawings mechanical properties determined experimentally, an initial model was developed. Subsequently, through iterative finite element updating, refined based dynamic properties. updated then employed assess earthquake event. study contributes field by providing insights into post-earthquake estimation intact utilizing comprehensive approach that combines updating. By quantifying changes parameters, natural frequencies mode shapes, provides valuable response characteristics building. observed differences between undamaged states are follows: 9% first shape, 6% second 2% third shape.

A NEW APPROACH BASED ON FINITE ELEMENT MODEL UPDATING FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION
In this study, the finite element model updating was simulated by reducing the stiffness of the members. Due to lack of access to the experimental results, the data obtained from an analytical model were used in the proposed structural damage scenarios. The updating parameters for the studied structures were defined as a reduction coefficient applied to the stiffness of the members. Parameter v...
متن کاملExperimental Study of Masonry Structure Under Impact Loading and Comparing it with Numerical Modeling Results via Finite Element Model Updating
Given the sophisticated nature of the blast phenomenon in relation to structures, it is of significance to accurately investigate the structure behavior under blast loads. Due to its rapid and transient nature, blast loading is one of the most important dynamic loadings on the structures. Since masonry materials are widely used as the partition and bearing walls in the existing and newly-built ...

In this article, topology optimization of two-dimensional (2D) building frames subjected to seismic loading is performed using the polygonal finite element method. Artificial ground motion accelerograms compatible with the design response spectrum of ASCE 7-16 are generated for the response history dynamic analysis needed in the optimization. The mean compliance of structure is minimized as a t...
متن کاملBayesian evidence for Finite element model updating
This paper considers the problem of model selection within the context of finite element model updating. Given that a number of FEM updating models, with different updating parameters, can be designed, this paper proposes using the Bayesian evidence statistic to assess the probability of each updating model. This makes it possible then to evaluate the need for alternative updating parameters in...
